Founded in 1957, Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (Muhammadiyah University of Prof. Dr. Hamka) is a private university located in Jakarta, Indonesia. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Riset dan Teknologi/Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency of Republic Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study.

Muhammadiyah University of Prof. Dr. Hamka has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 90-100% making this Indonesian higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UHAMKA also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.

Wijaya Kusuma School is a school that provides junior high, senior high and vocational high school education located in Kampung Rambuta, Ciracas, East Jakarta. This school was founded in 1977 by its founder, the late Fachrudin. He really cares about education in East Jakarta. Wijaya Kusuma School currently uses the K-13 curriculum which has been modified into an integrated entrepreneurship curriculum. The curriculum is designed to balance aspects of student development, academic, creative, physical, social and cultural to form character and interest in entrepreneurship. The skills for developing this modified curriculum are delivered using the National education system but are implemented through entrepreneurship-based teaching methods. This school also improves the curriculum with intracurricular programs such as field trips, experiential activities and extracurricular activities such as arts, sports, cultural programs aimed at encouraging and enhancing creativity and innovation. In addition, the Wijaya Kusuma character building program is designed to instill morals, respect, independence, honesty, responsibility and spirituality.

ROUTINE

The class starts at 6:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 11:10 am (Friday to Saturday). At the start of the class they will be given 45 minutes to have their breakfast before the lesson start.

They always start the class with a prayer and checking of attendance and when the teacher is assigned in the time before they go home. She/he will lead the singing of their national anthem and then clean their classroom before they leave. 

INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN

In SMA Wijaya Kusuma, they follow a curriculum in which they follow a certain book and that's where they get the lesson plan and also the assessment that they use and it is up to them if they want to get more informations from other sites or other references.

During the 1st week of my observation, I saw how my cooperating teacher executes his lessons, just like in the Philippines, he follows a certain lesson that he will teach for that day and used only the whiteboard and gave a lot of examples for them to easily understand the lesson. I can see that the way they teach is very traditional.
