This journey has been a roller coaster for everyone from the two consecutive rejection, losing our hope but still we decided to still continue and now that God redirected to and answered our prayers makes it more meaningful to us. I can say that everything that we went through was worth it. This journey is something that we will cherish for the rest for our lives. This program really helped us to immerse ourselves in a culture that we don't know and it helped us to be enlightened to a country that English is not considered as their second language and I am personally thankful for all the people I've met during my stay in Indonesia, from the staff of UHAMKA that made us comfortable and also for the Principal, the teachers of SMA Wijaya Kusuma for embarking their expertise and making our teaching with the Indonesian Students so much.
The SEA Teacher program offers an incredible opportunity for aspiring educators to enhance their teaching skills and gain valuable international experience. Participants engage in hands-on teaching practice whileing themselves in a new culture. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to broaden their horizons and make a meaningful impact in the field of education. It's a transformative experience that will enrich both your personal and professional life.
THE CHALLENGES
Going to a country without my family, my friends is already a challenge for me since I am an introvert and also conversing with them is also a hard challenge for me but I think that language barrier is indeed the most challenging thing that I've encountereed during my stay in Indonesia
Language barriers in teaching can greatly affect the learning experience for both teachers and students. When students find it difficult to grasp the language of instruction, it often results in confusion, frustration, and disengagement from the content. Educators need to create strategies to address these challenges, including the use of visual aids, simplifying language, and encouraging support. By promoting an inclusive atmosphere, teachers can assist all students in overcoming language hurdles and improving their educational outcomes.
Another challenge that I've encountered is building an effective classroom management. Effective classroom management is essential for creating an environment conducive to learning. It involves establishing clear expectations, routines, and procedures that promote positive and engagement among students. By consistently implementing these strategies, teachers can foster respect and collaboration, allowing students to thrive academically socially. A well-managed classroom not only enhances the educational experience but also empowers students to take responsibility for their actions and positively to their learning community.
SUGGESTION FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS
For future improvement, one of the main suggestions in teaching is a good classroom management because learning requires focus and proper attention. Classroom management is essential for creating a positive and productive learning environment. It involves establishing clear expectations, maintaining consistent routines, and fostering respectful relationships between teachers and students. By implementing proactive strategies, such as engaging lesson plans and positive reinforcement, educators can minimize disruptions and encourage student participation.
